A Newcastle law firm is welcoming an experienced solicitor to head up its growing employment division.

Lee Betchley, a dual qualified barrister and solicitor specialising in employment law, has joined Clarke Mairs in Newcastle city centre.

Lee, who is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA), has experience of advising a broad range of clients from PLCs to owner managed businesses. Lee also has extensive experience in the public and charitable/not-for-profit sectors.

Lee is an experienced advocate and has represented clients, in place of a barrister, in employment tribunals, the Employment Appeal Tribunal and the High Court.

He was born and raised on the Wirral and moved to the North East in 2007. Lee has previously worked as in-house Counsel to the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive (Nexus) where he advised on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues before working in the Newcastle offices of two leading commercial law firms.
